Miami Air International (an American charter airline based at Miami International Airport) has ceased operations. The airline was founded in 1990 and began operations in 1991. It operated charter flights for sports teams (such as the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers) and the US military, as well as tour operators and cruise lines. On the 24th of March, it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy (an American legal procedure that aims to protect companies and businesses in financial difficulty) and ceased operations yesterday. Thus a long history has come to an end. This is the first airline to go bust from the bad effects of the coronavirus on the economy. 10th of May 2020.
