Why is music so bad on planes?

These days, music on long-haul flights is supposed to be really relaxing and cool a “spiritual” enlightenment. I do NOT know what everybody is talking about. The stuff that they play is a monosyllabic version of ultra-cheap techno and pop that nobody listens to. It is so annoying! There’s no more good jazz or classical music anymore… not even rap ! On short flights in Europe, you don’t usually get music, but on flights to and from Spain on Easyjet or Swiss, there’s quite often a good Mickey Mouse for the kiddies to watch. Flying is clearly going to be like in the 50s (because everybody has lost their jobs), where only rich people get to travel, so maybe that’ll change the music scene on planes for the better: music was great in the 40s and 50s! Of course, it is visibly unfair that nobody else will be able to travel at an affordable price. Here are couple music mixes from different airlines:

Ultimately depressing… makes me feel like granny’s died.
A mix between Spartacus and Mozart with a cheezy Bono touch.
Better than the previous 2, but I don’t understand why they’re trying to make it look like a journey to Macchu Picchu, when it’s clearly some ridiculously creative computer (sarcasm alert) that made the song.

So, as you can see by the comments that I’ve written, I do not find these mixes very inspiring. A bit of Charlie Parker and Hank Mobley would change everbody’s journey for the better. 7th of June 2020.
