On the 26th of June 2020, Thai low-cost airline NokScoot ceased operations. NokScoot was a joint-venture between Singapore Airlines subsidiary Scoot and Thailand-based Nok Air that was in difficulty since its foudation in 2014, due to endless amounts of competition in the Asian low-cost market, especially from other low-cost airlines in Thailand. It operated 7 aircraft, which were all Boeing 777-200ERs (it also had 2 Boeing 737-800s on order [ for more info about this plane model, see my article entitled: Boeing 737 (part 3)]) and flew to 11 destinations, 6 of them being in China, 3 in Japan, 1 in Taiwan and 1 in India. Coronavirus continues to take its toll on the aviation industry. Although I have only written 100 posts, I have actually written 147 articles in all since December 2018, when my website started. 27th of June 2020.
