Lufthansa to resume flights to London City Airport

Lufthansa has announced today that it will resume flights from Frankfurt to London City Airport on the 7th of September. The German flag carrier will operate 2 flights a day between the 2 cities. Anne Doyere, London City Airport’s head of aviation has proclaimed that ‘the resumption of our Frankfurt route is a significant milestone for London City Airport and a positive sign for the UK’s and Europe’s economic recovery’. London City Airport was closed from the 25th of March to the 21st of June due to the coronavirus. Currently, British Airways is the largest operator at the airport, with a total of 33 destinations (10 of which are seasonal). It will start flying to Belfast-City Airport as of the 1st of September and stop flights to the Isle of Man as of the 13th of September. 26th of July 2020.
