BOC Aviation completes 5 aircraft sale and leaseback with TUI

BOC Aviation (Bank of China Aviation) has agreed on a deal with TUI Travel Aviation Finance for the purchase of 5 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and and their leaseback to TUI Travel Aviation Finance, which will raise $226 million to bolster TUI’s balance sheet during the pandemic. This is out of the common, as usually it’s the airline which purchases the aircraft and then gives it back to the lessor. BOC Aviation currently has a fleet of 571 aircraft, taking into account the aircraft that they manage, that are on order or that they own. 4th of August 2020.
