Trebinje Airport, an airport under construction in southern Bosnia, is expected to open to commercial flights in 2022. Earlier this week, the Serbian government announced that it would fund its construction. The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that Serbia wished to become the owner and operator of the airport. The Serbian transport and construction minister, Zorana Mihajlovic, added that out of the 3 possible places to locate the airport, one has been recognised as having the greatest potential, and should be selected within the next 2 to 3 weeks. She predicted that should the airport pass the construction stage, it would be able to handle around 50’000 passengers in the 1st year of its operations. 29th of August 2020.
